Write For Your Readers 1st, Search Engines 2nd!

The writing on your page is probably the reason that surfers are visiting your page to begin with. Every reader is valued so you don’t really want to disappoint them when they do land on your page and give it a look. I am going to talk about a few key points which could really help you write better content and explain why it is so important to your success!

Content is really the only reason that people are coming to your website so there is no gain on your part if you don’t provide anything of use. Here are a couple things to keep in mind when writing for your page:

* Original Content.

Firstly, write your own original content! You never want to duplicate content from any other sites or even re-write their content in your own words. This could not only lead to infringement of copyright laws, but you could also be greatly penalized by search engines for doing so. If writing your own content is a problem for you because you either don’t have any writing abilities, or English isn’t your first language… then you could choose to hire a freelance copywriter. This is a paid professional who could write articles and content for your web page at very reasonable costs. They go for approximately $8-$30 per article.

* Write for Your Readers, Not for Search Engines.

One of the biggest problems I have noticed is that a lot of people start writing content solely for search engine optimization and this will generally not help your website in the long run. Writing for SEO is one thing, but writing for SEO at the expense of writing quality content for your readers is something completely different. As a webmaster you will notice that you accumulate a fan base just as a musical artist or sports star. If your content becomes boring and clearly written to for the purpose of ranking high in Webmaster freelance wordpress  search engines then you could possibly lose your valued readers! When writing content on the internet I believe in my mind that your first priority is to provide quality information or at least interesting stuff to your readers to keep them satisfied and coming back for more.

Returning traffic is the lifeline of most blogs and they are always trying to keep building it. Why do you think so much importance is being placed on RSS subscribers these days? It is because RSS subscriber count is a great indicator of how many returning visitors your page has.

* Catchy Post Titles.

This is one of the easiest ways to captivate a surfer immediately. The post/article title is likely to be one of the first things he/she sees when visiting your page. This is a great reason to make it grab your reader’s attention. An easy trick to do this is to use adjectives that will capture your reader! An example of a title using this technique would be “Beautiful WordPress Templates!” or “Gigantic Savings on Web Hosting!”. Another simple thing that you can do is to include numbers in the title. I know it may sound strange at first, but surfers are more likely to read an article with a title that has numbers in its title! An example of this would be “6 Easy Ways to Increase Your Page Rank!” or “How to Rank 1st on Google!”. As you can see it does seem to add a value to your article in a numeric kind of way!

* Statistics.

If you have any opportunity to display statistics in an article or blog post then go for it! Statistics have shown that statistics are somewhat interesting to internet surfers because it provides them an easy breakdown of information that is displayed in a simple format. Whether you are showing statistics on page’s monthly performance or how many people have been successful in online marketing you will always attract readers with these posts!

* Write About Your Interests.

I don’t know if you realized but it is a lot easier to write about something you enjoy rather than something you know nothing about or find boring. If you are genuinely interested in something than you can easily write paragraph after paragraph of great content without even realizing how great it actually is. I have often come across adolescent myspace pages with rants on certain subjects and noticed that their writing is very captivating when it is about something they love. If you have a passion for a certain topic then that is definitely what you should be writing about. I think one of the only reasons I enjoy writing for the ‘ONE YEAR MILLIONAIRE’ is because everything to do with online marketing and web development is so fascinating to me!
